Polyurethane for acoustic and thermal insulation

Expanded polyurethane – commonly known as “sponge” or “foam” – is an open cell synthetic foam obtained by means of a chemical reaction by two agents and it is divided into two main categories: polyether-based polyurethane foams and polyester-based polyurethane foams. Well known for its extreme versatility, polyurethane allows to obtain a wide range of products with very different properties and uses.
The polyurethanes we process are produced in compliance with some of the most important fire behaviour standards for cellular materials as the FMVSS for automotive sector and the UL94 for industrial sector.

Density is defined as weight per unit volume and is measured in kg/m3. This is the main characterization parameter of polyurethane because it determines its mechanical properties.

We use polyurethane for acoustic and thermal insulation with densities between 25 and 60 kg/m³ from which we make sheets and coupled of different kinds. Items in this category are varied and generally used for acoustic and thermal insulation purposes, finding use in the refrigeration, packaging, transport and automotive industries, as well as in the compressor and generator sectors.
